Honestly, that could have been far worse. At least they kept the fan! Yes, it is indeed a newer model. Those blades they picture actually belong to another fan, however. I just left a comment (which is currently awaiting moderation)...

I actually love those reproductions of carbon filament style light bulbs but that is a case of when a clear shade is useful. Those bulbs on that fan light kit looks too empty. It shows that something is missing even though on other fixtures these bulbs can look nice by themselves.
It's very ironic and contradictory that this person didn't liked the vintage look of the tulip shades on the fan but likes the vintage look of the light bulbs.

The repaint jobs on the panamas don't look so bad. As for the homestead i think its replacement sounds better in terms of looks atleast.

As much as I'm not fond of their choice of color on the Panama, at least they kept the fan, and the painting isn't that poorly done..
I don't see what's wrong with the Edison bulbs,, though I do think it looks a bit ridiculous without any shades..
Again, not my choice in color, but the painting was done well if nothing else..
Sad story for the Homestead..
That last thing is quite peculiar.. not for me..

I like those bulbs also, I have a few of them.. They look great in the right applications.. That is odd indeed,, maybe the bulbs didn't fit inside the shades,, they are notably wider at the base than typical light bulbs..

Assuming (as much as I hate to do that) you are the user "Fan", at least they seem like a reasonably sensible person..
