I take a liking to anything pre-IV, although the original Low Profile is my personal favorite.

Although it's mounted in a similar way to a Low Profile ceiling fan. The model name is Barritz. I quite like this fan, in fact I saw this for sale on eBay where you got the picture a while ago, I don't know if it's still for sale or not. I hope it finds a good home. It's certainly a neat fan, what finish did you have it in?

Got a Hunter Low Profile. Dated first quarter of 1997. Has some bearings issue unfortunately, must have been damaged in shipping. Was working perfectly when originally installed. I'll post a picture of it installed once I can get bearings issue fixed.
Video of fan when originally installed: Video of motor running with bearing noise:

Yeah, I need to figure out how to oil it properly.

I may have considered getting the fan off eBay but it's not on my priority list nor was it a good deal. In my opinion they asked too much money for it.

Fans sit for months and months before they sell because of their outrageous prices..

The Hunter fan was less but it's still way too much, I don't even think it would be worth as much as they were asking if it were new in box.

Unfortunately eBay has turned into a market place only for those who have outrageous amounts of money, or really, really want a particular item.. I haven't bought from eBay in a very long time.. I don't even browse there any more.. The only time I look is if I have something particular in mind,, then I'l search it to see if by by chance there is one with a reasonable price.. More often than not the answer is no.. Even if it is, usually the outlandish shipping cost will push it over what I want to pay..

Fans that were $40 back in their day are being offered for $100+ even when they're not in box. It's insanity. Are there any other online places you search for fans at?

The majority of my collection currently comes from tag sales, thrift sales etc.. where stuff is cheaper, no shipping is involved, and I can see what I'm getting in person.. I don't search online beyond eBay, however I know people do look for fans on Craig's-List and Kijiji often..
