I would like to get some more information on a fan we acquired with a home we purchased. It is a Casablanca Victorian Ser No. BP 83568 Mod. CB-2444.
I called Casablanca and all they could give me was that it is a 1982 model.
I measured blade tip to tip and it is 53". Isn't that unusual? Shouldn't it be an even number?
It has a dial for the fan speed. When it was connected the dial only had two speeds, full and off.
We wanted to know more about this fan before we decide to do anything with it.
Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

Sounds like the slumber quiet (variable speed control) is shot.
Great fan but those controls are unreliable and drop in replacements are no longer available.
You could add a wall control or remote kit for three or four speed.

DO NOT throw this fan out! If you ever want to get rid of your fan, a collector will be interested in it.

I'm in the New Orleans' area. Not sure where to begin looking for a collector. Any ideas? Value? I know that there's a fan collector in Louisiana by the name of Cullen D, however his exact location in the state isn't clear. If you plan on repairing and keeping the fan, I would follow Dan's (Obi-Wan) advice regarding the use of a wall control or remote control kit. I hope this helps, Max
