That is the first bad Thing I have seen occur with fanimation! Same here, but it shouldn't be that much of a surprise, if you note on the page it indicates that the thing is made from China...anything from China cannot be trusted.

So what about the computer that you are using? Its made in China. Iphone is made in China.
Most of us know that Fanimation is better than whats on the market today. Some of us know the employees at Fanimation so please dont say anything bad.

They're taking proactive measures to correct a known issue, I don't think it's a huge deal. Millions of "Made In USA" Casablanca, Emerson, and NuTone fans were under recall for defective mounting systems, nobody's immune to recall in this industry. I have most respect for companies that release clear information to the public to make corrections, that is truly standing behind your product.

Some of us know the employees at Fanimation so please dont say anything bad. Mostly everything today is garbage. Computers don't last as long as they used to, iPhones last 2 years tops. I never said Fanimation was a bad make. In fact I think its probably the best modern make out there today. They have a very good reputation and a lot of great people working there. I'm well aware that we know people that work there, in fact if I'm not mistaken some of them are even members of this forum. What I say about them has nothing to do with what you say about them. This is a good point. I'd much rather them release a recall when a known issue occurs unlike other companies who keep quiet about it and end up causing major problems. That Is why I claim the best current fan companies are Fanimation and emerson. I would agree with that.

Like Cole said.. Most, if not, all big named ceiling fan manufacturers have had recalls in the past..
You can blame big business for everything being made in China..

iPhones last longer. I have a 6 year old iPhone 4 and my dad has an ORIGINAL iPhone and it still works but he uses it as an extra/iPod.

Li-Ion batteries as used in those phones, and most any other electronic device today, have a limited life. They spoil after a few years regardless of how you use them, not to mention they only take so many charge cycles, usually on phone batteries about 400, before they start to loose capacity. I don't see how an original iPhone could possibly still be properly functioning after this long.

Like Cole said - Fanimation is taking responsibility and that's honorable. If if were my choice, about 90% of current Hunter models should also be recalled due to the risk their undersized motors overheating

Like Cole said - Fanimation is taking responsibility and that's honorable. I agree If if were my choice, about 90% of current Hunter models should also be recalled due to the risk their undersized motors overheating I'm actually surprised we don't see Hunter motors overheating more often with the way they're being made now. Granted its only been a few years since those were introduced, let's see how many are still going in 10 years from now. If you read any reviews about modern Hunter fans, people's dissatisfaction with the company's current operation is very evident.
