I've seen in these threads multiple Key Largos with ERS-type canopies. Never saw that coming.
Pierce, we're considering 90s as vintage now.

Pierce, we're considering 90s as vintage now. Dan, we're the old dudes here. You and I go back almost 20 years now. If this new crop of pre-teens wants to "move the needle" every decade - to the point where the Harbor Breeze crap sold in the 2000s will eventually be "vintage" - let them be foolish on their own. For me, "vintage" isn't just about age, it's also about quality. The fans from the 1975-1985 period are much better-built than the fans from the 1985-1995 period. We're talking real Hunter/R&M Originals and Comfort Breezes (with stack motors and rubber flywheels), real 1st-gen. FASCO Parlourfans and Olde Southes and Charlestons before they cheaped out, Emerson 1895 Series and blenderfans and Casablanca Classic/Designer, the good old Casablanca models like Zephyr/Four Seasons/Delta/Victorian, Moss Caribbean Breezes, Panasonics, Key Largos, Southern Fan Taras, etc. Fans with real motors, real wood blades, thick metal castings, high build quality. That's "vintage" to me. This flimsy imported spinner garbage from the late 80s on into the 90s and 2000s is no good. Too many cheap manufacturers flooded the marketplace in the mid-80s, and turned it into a "race to the bottom" through price wars. That's why there was so much consolidation, so many companies left the market, and the ones who remained lowered their quality (FASCO, Casablanca, Emerson, Hunter, and Lasko all started cheaping out...even the builderfans like Hampton Bay stepped down, remember when the Landmark was variable-speed?) There are SO many fans in South Florida homes that I'd crash Adam's server if I posted pics of every one with a fan in it. I have to be selective, so I choose only to include the high-end, less-common, best-built fans from the "golden age of vintage fans": the decade from 1975 to 1985.
Please no flames. Anyone who doesn't agree with my choices is welcome to start his own thread.
Peace.
Pierce, getting old sucks. One of the things about it is that stuff you could have bought new is now collectible. Terms like antique and vintage (vintage having many definitions, but in this context) are defined by the age of the item, not by the period it was from. That means 20-30 years from now, fans produced today will be vintage, and possibly what we call vintage will be antique. I believe I've known you over 20 years. What year did the AFCA do a write up on you?

That one looks like a 4 Seasons... If it is.. Odd how Canadian fans end up in Florida..
I agree about your time frame of "Vintage" ceiling fans.. Those were the best built fans before they got to be garbage...

Orchid Tree looks like a Southern Breeze Fairwind to me.
The "Looks Rare" is a Calcutta/American Industries of some sort. And it's not the only one in this series of pics.
