Well, hunter is changing the original. It is now going to become a 4 blade only model, but the blade brackets got freakishly oversized... But I don't think the materials or motor changed. Just the blade configuration and the blade brackets, those were changed; it is called the original damp, so I don't know if it's replacing the current classic original. It moves more air than the current classic original, at 7560 cfm instead of 6947. It has the same motor as today's original.

Per coolcat97 who got the following info thru blind depot who got the info thru Hunter the motor is going to be the old ('70s) style. Btw, Link is dead.

This is the new hunter original ceiling fan I talked about in my last thread... Hansen wholesale says that hunter will release this fan later in 2015. Refer to my last thread for CFM information from Hunter's website, and information about what changed.

Well for one your specs are WRONG. They are NOT using the same motor and the fan WILL have 4/5 blade option. You obviously didn't research.

I was afraid something like this would happen. So sad to see the last good Hunter fan sink down to this level My three questions are: 1. What kind of motor will Hunter be using? 2. Is the housing still cast iron? 3. Are the blades wood or MDF?

The thread was not deleted, I locked it until he started the new thread with the picture. Link has been fixed (it was missing a question mark).
The proportions look kind of weird... almost like a 48". It seems like they either made the bracket arms shorter, the blades wider (which would certainly be a welcome addition), or both.

It still seems to take oil since parts guide for 23838 lists an oil tube. And I can see holes for 5 blades.

Here's the link to the catalog, complete with pics of it with 5 blades: www.hunterfan.com/uploadedFiles/HunterFan/Subgateway_Content/2015_Core_Web.pdfDoesn't look like much is changing. Only cosmetic change is the brackets, which I really like the more I look at them (the change from R&M or even Reversaire to the current style was much more drastic). Other than that, the motor is still 210x20, and it is listed as pushing more air using slightly less wattage.

I actually don't mind the new blade brackets. At least they're not sticking the super generic and overused Augusta III blade brackets on it.

I actually think I like the oversized blade brackets more than the other blade brackets. The fan moves more air along with that, while using less wattage. I think it got a little better.

Oh no, they put those ugly brackets on the Original now too! Yuck... At least it still has a reasonable size motor.

Are we talking the real motor from back in the day or this skeletal thing? 1. Same motor that hunter has used since the fan had stopped being produced in US (2002) 2. Still has cast iron housing and motor 3. Still has high quality wood veneer blades If it's damp rated, shouldn't the blades be plastic of some sort?
