Most light kits will fit on there with no modification. How would they attach, without having that center post thing that the switch cap threads on to, or any holes on the side to screw into?

Most light kits have both the center threaded rod and the two holes for screws.

You may have to cut the center threaded post with a Dremel to get it to fit properly. You'll definitely have to if you ever choose to convert the fan to 3-speed.

I would like to convert it to three speed because the low is too fast, but I have this thing on leaving everything as original as possible, so that will probably never happen. I may make a wall control for it to give a slower low speed if I ever get a permanent install for it though. I'd rather get a proper switch cap for it than a light, I don't really like these with lights.

yes low is too fast rpms on my blender fans i had,i used a varible speed wall switch(knob) to make it that good normal low speed rpms otherise slightly slower.

That's surprising, I'll have to keep that in mind. Would be much easier than setting up a capacitor-based control.

the white one with plastic blades i had(dan spiffy neuman has it now)>>>back when i had it/used it,i used it with wall speed control and yes it was quiet to me in all speeds from the wall control.
