I am looking for schematics for the Evergo Union 56 Model A-2 and Model 4A-2 fans. Specifically I need to know what kind of motor they used and whether they can be used with a solid state controls. I have Nine fans operating on 3 circuits, so 3 fans per control. We want to be able to control the speed of the fans. Current draw looks to be 1 amp per fan according to the sticker on the fan. They also have a marking that states "Listed Fan 408X", any idea what that means?

Solid state speed controls are not safe for 16 pole motors. Even if it's not a 16 pole motor, it can cause noise. So it's better to use a transformer based control if you want complete silence.

Transformer controls arent generally sold any more.
Union made a few different versions of this model, some would be ok with a solid state speed control, in which case you could control all 9 fans with one 15 amp control.
I would get a solid state control and try it. If they are not compatable you will know because the fans will be very noisy.
In which case, you will have to use capacitor based controls, and you can only put two fans to a control max. One is recommended. I will hook you up with my supplier of these controls.

I did and still do. The video you reference has no sound.

If the conversation is just background noise there's no reason to silence it, especially if a fan's noise level is a point of discussion.

It's hard to hear solid state noise in a busy public place, even with a 16 pole motor.

It's hard to hear solid state noise in a busy public place, even with a 16 pole motor. Hunter Mariner and 2 Hampton Bay Industrials are on the same solid state speed control, and Hampton Bay Industrials likely have 18 pole motors. Will that likely make it quieter or louder than Hunter Mariner alone on a solid state speed control.

I doubt the HB industrials are 18 pole, as they come with a 4 speed control. Not knowing that for sure I cant speculate.

First of all, that's their generic speed control blurb. Secondly, we have no idea if the Dayton versions are electrically identical. Too much speculation here.
