Interesting. The board in my Gulf Coast Naples (model PC 52) is labeled "LEYANT." The two must be Kontrust factories.

Neat.. I've seen some many versions of these with slight modifications.. I saw one with two pull switches coming out of the switch housing.. Had no light so it was either for reverse or to be used if a light kit was added.. I can't remember if I ever posted pics of that or not.. I kick myself in the ass for not getting it.. They seem to be builder fans of the mid-late 1980s.. Alot of condo neighborhoods with high ceilings and sky lights when up around 1987 - 1988 around here.. I suspect that's where alot of them are coming from..

I've seen more Sierra fans than anything else with the second pullchain for the light already installed, I suppose any number of fans from the same factory could be of the same setup though. Must have driven some people crazy to have that other chain on there though, considering how some people have trouble keeping each chain straight.
A lot of these imported stack motor fans baffle me, just due to the sheer number of labels they went under if nothing else.

On the sticker you can see the exact date: 8611. It was made in November 1986. The ones I've seen on Kijiji around here seems to have a second pull chain for light. Here's a picture of a beautiful all brass model I saved from Kijiji. You can see it's really not a reverse pull chain. We can see very well the reverse switch.

You mean that they end up with a useless pull chain because most of universal lights comes with a pull chain on it? Well imagine a 1980-1990's lighted housing Canadian fan. Four pull chains.

You're welcome.. The date code does make sense...
That one pictured looks much chunkier, and older.. Perhaps from 1983-84 era..

Nifty thing. To my eyes, a bit Sierra, a bit Homestead, mix of many things. Would LOVE it if it was 4-blade, with those blades and cane.

Or if they don't install a light at all. I'm sure a lot of people were thinking WTF is this chain for? It would be even more confusing if they added a light with its own control. Yeah, I don't think I would even keep four controls straight all the time.

Very interesting fan indeed! I got a pretty similar looking one on vacation last November that I suspect might be a later FANKING:

Adam, the speeds are fast for a 3-speed stack motor fan. Some 3-speed stack motor fans have a medium speed like the low speed of this one.
How is the air movement compared with a Casablanca Delta, Panama or Zephyr?

I'd love to see how many finishes these came in... I wonder if they made a chrome one with white cane? Hmmm...
