A NuTone Sea Island.. Almost walked out with just the motor/brackets.. I decided to look really hard and I noticed the blades in a box with a hugger ceiling fan..  |

It's been added to the NuTone gallery, and a video is up.. This thing sounds like a hamster cage.. The bearings are in bad shape.. I tried to replace the pull switch with a new one, but this thing has a different way to regulate the speeds..

If I recall correctly, 3-speed spinner-motor Nutones use a simple 3-way light pullchain.

That's what I tried but it doesn't work correctly.. There's only three wires going to the pull switch, one lead and two others.. Normally there's 4 wires in total with other three speed fans.. The pull switch must use a combination of wires to get the speeds and there's also a transformer in the switch housing..

You don't have the pullchain wired correctly...

Lead went into (L) and the other two wires went into what ever was labeled on the original switch into the number of the new switch and it didn't work except for low speed.. If it's suppose to wired different than I don't know...

When I replaced the pullchain on my Slimline, the three wires were red, blue and black. I just connected the wires according to color and BOOM! Everything worked fine.
