Well,I been having my eyes on the baby for a few years and finally,it will be mines! The flywheel is about to give out so I will be getting it this week. This is at my Minister of Music Parent's house and they did install it there in 1981 or 1982 The date on the switch is 02/81. Fan has some problems and I found out that the flywheel is giving out. A Hampton Bay Lynhurst I got online will be the Successor which was picked out by his mother. The fan runs well but has noise issues. The light kit has a three way switch which is awesome and the fan is in mint condition! Yep..im happy!

Beautiful.. When the fan is taken down, I'd personally be very careful and slowly remove the blades and take one blade off and then the following blade on the opposite side until you're down to one.. You may be able to revive that flywheel soaking it in some kind of rubber conditioner.. If not You can always order a flywheel for the five blade Fasco models and drill holes to fit the six blades..

What do you think, Shelley?

I think that making them out of metal is the best long term solution, affix some sort of thick metal ring to the inside of the cover, like the outer part of the rubber flywheels, and then use the screw holes at the center of the cover to bolt it to a hub that attaches to the shaft, rather like how universal replacement propellers for HVAC condenser motors are fitted. Thats the one way, the other would be to jsut have solid metal disc above the decorative cover, I have some ideas I might try for blade hub for the massive (bigger than a k63 its aobut 7.5in across with 3 inch thick stator) commerical 18pole washing machine motor i found, it needs rewound, thinking about sticking 6 hamptonbay industrial blades on it to make effectively a 6 blade stratojet fa

You could buy a flywheel for the five blade Fasco models and re-drill the holes and fill in the ones that won't be used with JB Weld.. Keep in mind that if you screw it up than you would be wasting $50 too...
