Better not be, I'm counting on you . . . but you hear that Pierce? You need to find me a "Tara by Southern Fan Co" preferably brown and brass.

I replied to another thread of yours with some info and conjectures on the Tara ceiling fan, in another folder. Please read that.
The picture given looks like a close-up of the cover of "The Fan Book" (comissioned by Casablanca, with an annoying slant towards them). I'd like to see a picture of the fan, or at least know what model he is selling.

I replied to another thread of yours with some info and conjectures on the Tara ceiling fan, in another folder. Please read that. I did! You're supposed to find the fan for me, not tell me what I already know* The picture given looks like a close-up of the cover of "The Fan Book" (comissioned by Casablanca, with an annoying slant towards them). I'd like to see a picture of the fan, or at least know what model he is selling. Some of the old manuals did have that same cover . . . but it makes me nervous, seeing a picture like that and having no idea what fan it is or if there even is a fan. It's like Adrian Parrado's mysterious reappearing Hunter auction! (sorry Adrian, I know that auction was honest!) *I'm sure telling Pierce he's supposed to find me a fan will land me another "you're not God you cant order me around" post, in which Pierce will prove once again he has no sense of humor and a short fuse . . . Pierce, what I really mean is "I would really like it if you would be able to find me that fan" . . . For the record, Adrian's the only one who's actually be ordered to find the fan . . .

Did this thing ever pan out? You finding me my fan, or the auction. Kidding (you'd've told me if you found my fan). Well, the winning bidder paid a good price for the fan . . . no feedback has been left by either party . . . so, no signs of anything bad, yet, but no assurance that it worked out either.

Does that "Tara fan" have two variable speed controls? If so, I've seen it. I saw an old 1980's fan display at an Ace hardware store. I saw a spinner fan, a hugger fan, and some other fan aswell. The store also had ten of those Encon industrial 36'' fans installed, with the blades are bent up at an odd angle. There are both white and brown versions and a few of them had the older beehive canopy. I also saw two of those four blade fans with 48'' medal blades installed aswell, kind of like the Ebay pic in Adam's gallery but not ornate, regular. the fan with two variable speed controls was a ball/hanger canopy. they trashed the fan display, one of the four medal blade fans, and one of the white industrial fans. I'm probably going to get all of the fans soon. The fan i am talking about was antique brass and it looked like the sketch that was posted. No, the Tara fan only had one (no idea why a fan would have two) and had a bell canopy. But thanks for thinking of it, and good luck on the Encons!

One was for the fan, and one was probably for a light fixture.

I've never seen one, but don't doubt its existance.
Might it have been a rotary-knob reverse switch?

Really? I'm assuming it was a pre-Slumber-Quiet fan. One of the early Victorians?
