So I finally replaced the HB Grayton in my parents' kitchen as their birthdays, wedding anniversary, and mothers day is all within two weeks of each other. Picked up the 44" Hunter Ridgefield in white. Great fan. works well, looks great, light is ridiculously bright. A few observations though:
5 Minutes? I THINK NOT! I can tear down an old fan and install a new one in about 15-20 minutes. this took me two hours to install. The motor is quiet, spools up quickly and efficiently. Blows a great amount of air and such.
Also, due to the design of their easy-attach blade system, the fan wobbles like Keith Richards after 6 bottles of Jack Daniels. I don't know if anybody is familiar with this, but the blades slide over what appears to be a "T" nut, and swivel them until locked. There's this spring loaded clip that then locks the back of the blade in place. Personally I feel as though it's a ****** system they're using.
Can somebody please explain to me how to PROPERLY balance this fan? Its great otherwise. $120 at Lowes, on clearance at $59.

Return it and get something else. The Springfield II by Harbor Breeze is a decent fan and is about the same price.

I was looking at a few other models. It was priced nicely and it works really well. Finally balanced it today. Dead straight on high speed in both directions with no chain movement. I'm still learning about the different fans out there. Maybe I'll get a chance to take a pic of the decent ones (imo) in my place.
