I am loving my life and my Habitat right now. I've wanted a Star or a Starlet ever since they came back, and now I've got one. I love it even more because it has the Homestead parts still. I paid a bit more than your average Habitat price at $65, but that's a good price anyways and I HAD to have it. Overall it's in good shape, but missing the glass which I'll deal with whenever I get time to call Casablanca. One blade has some pieces cracked off, that doesn't really affect the performance and it's not visible on the underside. Could also use a new VersaTouch remote, this one works okay but the buttons are kinda going out. I'm just thankful it even had the remote with it! Missing chunks are near the two left-most screws:

Knew this one probably wouldn't be your cup of tea, Adam. But thanks, I'm really happy with it. I almost bought a Starlet new a few years ago just because I never imagined finding either size this easily, now I'm glad I didn't spend all that money...

Cool! I did not know you like contemporary three blade mid body mounted fans with remote controls and halogen lights kits. I remember they were the big new thing around the mid 1990's to early 2000's. The Encon Mach One was probably my favorite one. I'm remember a Casablanca one sold at Rona around 1996 that was offered in polished brass with high gloss rosewood blades. It had the same remote as this one. I wonder what model it was.
I suppose that the difference between the 1990's models and the current ones is the canopy?
I did not know these were first Homestead. Apparently most of Casablanca contemporary three blade fans of these style were.
I saw it's video, it makes such a weird sound on higher speeds. Probably because of the holes in the blades.

Oh yeah, I'm all over these things if they came from a high-end company. The Star, Atlantis, Airflow. Specifically anything that came out of the Casablanca/Homestead merger is what I like, it's not only the style but the fact that they're the last of what Homestead was able to put out and anybody who knows me around here knows I can't get enough Homestead. Seems that's the only real difference to me; the canopy and mounting, and the fact that this one uses the Homestead plug-in downrod (which was a great idea that should've caught on with other companies IMO). Yes a lot of these designs came from Homestead, it's amazing to look at how much of Homestead's line Casablanca used in the first few years after they acquired them before completely killing everything off. It's a very unique fan all around lol, that sound is really neat, there's nothing generic about this fan.

The glass I ordered came in today, only two days after ordering. I love how Casablanca stuff always gets here so fast, I think it was two days for my Stealth blade tips as well.

Looks nice with that glass on it! BTW, what year is your Star from?

IDK, does anyone know how to find a year on these things? The serial doesn't line up with the usual date code. The remote says December 1995 I think, but that's supposedly a year early for the Star to be under Casablanca. There's also a 1994 on the fan, not sure if that's a year or not, but again it'd be too early from what I know.

Oh nice! How quick! You did not lose time and they did not lost time.
It seems Homestead liked to play with unusual number of blades. They usually did six blades and near the end before being purchased by Casablanca, a lot of very modern three blade fans that are not spinners. Before these, three blades designs were usually seen only on spinners.

Yes, that's another part of my complex love for Homestead. They were always ahead of the trend, they set the trend in some cases. That's what makes me wonder what would be going on these days had Homestead stayed in business. You look at how wacky some fans are now, in my opinion Homestead played a huge part in making that possible.
