I decided to change out the Slimline in my family room with my 1988 dated Oak Dixie Belle. I kept the same light kit from the Slimline since I like all the light it provides in this large room. One question regarding this fan, the label on the top states Carribean, which always led me to believe that the fan was made by CEC (I've heard them called Carribean Electric Co.) Am I correct in this assumption or is that in fact the fan's model name? I call it the Oak Dixie Belle because I purchased it from the Rockville Dan's Fan City back in the late '80s, and the manager there remembered this model of fan and called it the Oak Dixie Belle. I hope you enjoy the pics!

I think it's safe to call it a CEC.
Nice fan by the way; I love wood-housing fans like this.

The Emerson GEV looks early-mid 1990s.. Pretty much at the end of GEV.. Those Slimline or the equivalents I see around quite often, I never get them.. I may just start getting them for gallery pictures and literature, and then re-donate them back..
The Alaska and the top mount are neat..

It looks great! The WhisperWind motor replaced the AirMax motor in all Hunter fans later, but this fan was actually called the WhisperWind. I remember these at Home Depot as late as 2001, the boxes were cool and different than most Hunter boxes of the time.

I used to have an Alaska like that. Same model number. Unfortunately mine was horribly rusted so I scrapped it. Too bad. I really liked that fan. Wish it was as nice as yours.
