got all my 5 crompton greaves high breeze mounted in the store, the 56" ones in the main place and the 48" and 36" in the 2 small rooms
the 2 early 90s - late 80s versions (1 56" and 1 48") were obtained from a dubizzle ad along with a rare KDK and a union-shaped SMC
they spin faster than the older and newer versions of CG and blow tons of air!
this one is dated february 2000, got it as one of the fans from the amazing haul last summer from the building that is to be demolished
this fan spins slower than the early 90s version even when bladeless, it also blows tons of air but a bit less, notice the motor size is smaller and canopies are different.. the motor size was reduced somewhere between 1995 and 1996 and the canopy shape was changed few years before that.. i remember i used to consider these fans to be "the new fan to dominate and replace all the old fans" when i was in primary school
the 36" one is dated 2007, i dont remember which month though.. got it from the scrapyard
it's sad to know the motor has really shrank, but thanks god its only for the 36" ones, the 48" and 56" ones still have the same motor size as the early 2000s but the canopies are different.. the amazing thing abt this fan is that it doesnt heat as much as the other cromptons
finally the early 80s one.. got it as a motor from the scrapyard by trading it with another fan motor that was already damaged.. i was expecting it not to work but i was surprised that it actually worked and nothing was wrong with the winding!!! the capacitor was gone, however but i got a replacement.. from the scrap as well, i found bent CG whirlwind blades lying in a corner and took them for this fan, the only problem with those is that it won't fit on both screws so what i did was placed it on 1 screw and used the already sliced blade arms as a support to avoid the blade from slipping
the fan before/during restoration:
after restoration
videos: (early CG video isnt snapped yet)
more pics and video on the way
