Found this under the tree yesterday! Not much of a surprise since I asked my parents for it a while back ;D , but I was pretty excited to finally get it. It's an old fluorescent desk lamp, probably from the 1950s or 60s. It was made by Dazor Mfg. Corp., and it's a Model 1000. Pretty cool lamp; I've been wanting one of these old fluorescent desk lamps for quite a while now. Works perfectly for its age, and it's super bright! Uses two F15T8 bulbs. Pictures: Base. You press and hold the red button to light, and tap the black button to shut it off. Underneath the shade: Lit : Here are the two bulbs. One is a General Electric soft white bulb with metal ends, and the other is a Mazda-GE "white" bulb with plastic ends. By the looks of it, I'd imagine the Mazda bulb is one of the original bulbs and the GE soft white one is an 80s or 90s replacement. Enjoy the pics for now! I'll get a video up soon.

Mm, it's in good shape. I see these all the time and love them myself, but they're never in good shape as is so I pass most of them up. I had a 70s one with more plastic parts, but a socket broke and I was never able to find a replacement so I parted it out.

Yeah, I was very happy with the condition too - a few minor scratches are present here and there, but it's in real nice shape overall.

Update: I found out from some lighting experts that the fluorescent tubes in this lamp are a lot older than I thought. The GE soft white bulb is from 1969, and the GE-Mazda bulb is from 1943!

Woah, 1943 and still working! That's incredible, very cool. I swapped an old Sunbeam tube out of one of these kinds of lamps and put it in the one I got when we were still in the store because I wanted the bulb itself. I know I still have it somewhere, LOVE old fluorescent tubes about as much as the fixtures they went in.

I was guessing mid-60s on the Mazda bulb...turns out the newer of the two is about that old! Today actually, I replaced both of the old bulbs in this light with two new GE Cool White bulbs. I decided to set the two vintage bulbs aside, especially with the Mazda one being as old as it is and still working. I'd hate for either of them to burn out!
