If you want to share your story on how you started liking ceiling fans, post them here. Here's mine: When I was a baby, for some reason, I always look up at the ceiling and see all those lighting and ceiling fans. When I was three, that's when I figured that those lighting and ceiling fans I looked at inspired me. I enjoyed looking at all the beautiful vintage ceiling fans at the places I visited in my childhood. ;D By kindergarten, I looked at Home Depot flyers and Canadian Tire and Sears catalogues. At end of Grade 3, I got to keep a Canadian Tire 1994 catalogue that accidently got recycled 2 years later which made me cry. Most of the places in my childhood with beautiful ceiling fans had been either closed down or had the ceiling fans removed. That's how I started hunting for older catalogues with ceiling fans. That's how I started liking older ceiling fans more than the new ones.

I first went to Home Depot as a young child with my parents, and they took me in the ceiling fan aisle. They picked up catalogs for me to look at (I couldn't read yet, but I looked at the pictures of the fans), and one of the employees at Home Depot turned on a Hampton Bay Huntington I for me (Yes, I can remember what type of fan it was). Ever since then, I've always had a fan collecting hobby! (:

My parents had a Casablanca Panama 5 blade white ceiling fan with a spotlight kit in the kitchen of our old house. I used to play with the IT controls on it when I was little. At first I liked the motion. Then I saw a stencil bladed ceiling fan for the first time when I was three. That got me hooked on ceiling fans. Stencil was always my favorite. I also used to play with my grandmother's SMC DC-52 in her bedroom. I have just loved all different types of fans since I was a kid. When I was 14 I discovered this site and learned more about the different brands and types. Then I collected my first ceiling fan when I was 16 at a flea market. Ever since then I've been hooked. I love vintage ceiling fans. Especially Stencil blades and Cane blades.

I used to enjoy watching the relite fam spin when i was 2 or 3, i hated the moments they were switching off the fans.. I remember as a 1st grade student i used to go to different classes during break times just to operate fans (relite mainly) and watch them spin.. SMCs are also what made me really like fans.. i always hoped to own such nice fans when i was a kid but i never had a chance, i always daydreamed, creatrd home made fans and imagined yhem as real fans etc.., the first time i saw GE vent fans were in malaysia and i was so amazed by them.. i even called them "malaysian fans"
