This one's ball/socket, I presume it's newer than what you're looking for.

Ball and Socket mounting was around as far back as 1982... It was mostly used on smaller spinners, but occasionally you would see something like this.. So that doesn't mean anything.. I saw a very neat chunky and old GE vent at someones house about 8 years ago and it was using Ball and Socket.. Look at the blades, they aren't simulated wood..

I'm almost certain this isn't Palm Air.. I would guess Ritz, Codep, Toasmaster or Even Union before that..

The only one of those it could possibly be is Toastmaster . . .

Well what ever it is, this the same fan I found out of an abandoned house in the late 1980s, even the same antique brass finish.. I remember it being on the floor with a broken blade.. I took it home and accidentally braking off the other blade by setting the fan on it's blades, I remember hanging it and running it with three blades.. Of course it eventually got thrown out.. It was three speed like these, very chunky plain side band, and rounded switch housing.. If I remember correctly, the upper side also had the GE vent pattern, so this fan to me is like a Tara to Dan.. If anyone finds one, I defiantly want.. I use to see these around as a child in the early 80s..

Just found a broken one of these last week tossed out at someone's curb. They're Caribbean Electric.
The one I found had been rigged with a replacement switch cap... almost like it had been Habitat-ized. It had a huge motor in it - probably a 188mm - but the pull chain switch was broken and the capacitor was fried. The top faceplate was slotted like the ones a lot of the 188mm imports use (seen it on Craftmade, Litex, older import Emerson etc.) I parted it out almost immediately.

You found a chunky old five blade fan and you didn't let me know? Was the fan overall "Heavy", Like a Moss Heirloom or even close to it, or lite, like a Palm Air? Also you're saying that the top part of the motor housing is not GE vent?

I just want to let you know that I posted a comment on this video saying you found it. He changed the title of this video. Also, user "ZappingHero" is the first subscriber of my current channel.
