Got this fan a few months ago and it has been just laying around. Couldn't find a use for it until now. Perfect place for it too.
Fan is mounted pretty high so I'm not worried about it getting damaged while in use.
The set-up:
Used two 80" long 4x4 beams parallel to each other resting on two steel I-beams. The crossmember is a 2x4 cut at 17.5" screwed in with two 5" long 2x4 scrap pieces and 8 2.5" drywall screws. I lacked a proper J-hook so I used some very heavy duty garage door hooks meant to tension gigantic springs. Washers, locking nuts and regular nuts on top to keep it from loosening and going anywhere.
Tested with my own body weight (135+) and this set-up didn't budge at all. Didn't even bend.
Fan is crudely wired to plug into an existing light socket. Although it is safe, soldered and heatshrunk, it looks like hell.
What do you guys think?

Looks good to me. I've done a rigged setup or two myself, if it works, it works.

It looks really cute to me. For a room like this it's fine.
Andrew have one just like it. It's a sort of TAT with a Moss canopy. I love how wide the blades are on it.
