Very nice fan. I saw one exactly like it in a mall in Manhattan New York. They do indeed have a beautiful slow low similar to Casablancas.
This version is not from the mid 1980s though. It's from the late 1980s to early 1990s. Yours was made in May 1989 according to the sticker on the top of the motor.

Thanks for pointing that out Jean, I wasn't 100% sure if that was the date code. It kind of threw me off seeing how the forward/reverse is on the motor housing..

Awesome find, 3rd gen is a childhood model for me, but I love anything FASCO.
Reverse was in the motor housing for most FASCOs in general, even the American Spirit and such had reverse in the motor housing.
