Nice! I didn't know they even made ornate 1895's.

What you have here technically isn't what we'd consider to be "ornate." It's just an 1895 deluxe, nothing more.
There are two drastically different variations of the ornate 1895; "ornate" and "obscenely f-ing ornate." The regular "ornate" version has the normal 1895 form factor, with a plain sideband an ornate bottom plate. The "obscenely f-ing ornate" version is very rare. It has a grossly-ornate motor housing with a very different form factor; it is variable speed-only. I believe it was only sold at Sears.

Yeah I suppose ornate is a bit of an incorrect word to say considering of all the different models they made. The tag on the switch housing says Emerson 1895 Series Masterpiece Edition. Looking at the motor, I would guess that is is a KB55 motor?

Try fiddling with the dip codes.

I tried the other 1895 and it worked on 2 speeds only and it is very noisy, the lighted worked fine and when I tried the light again it buzzed while it was on and when I turned it off, now the damn thing won't won't work fan or light. Reverse didn't work either. any ideas? what to try now? It seemed that the remote only worked with the second fan, but now it won't work at all on either fan. Here is the Slimline hung up, it works thankfully.

Fiddling with the Emerson again and it did work on all 3 speeds, reverse worked and the light worked. Still buzzed though, it seems very cantankerous. I also had to replace the pull switch on the Slim since it had been "Fixed" electrical tape holding together the connections and electrical tape holding the entire switch together, it came all apart and I just laughed. Just a standard 3 way pull switch worked. The chain on the old switch had a connector on it since it had broke off and it was inside the switch making it impossible to pull the chain straight down. I will have to bench test the other 1895 again to see if it will work.

Glad the Slimline works at least. Hope you can get those 1895s running too.
