Most of today's fans are junk. Some like Casablanca still have good quality but are expensive. I would recommend watching some videos on YouTube to see a wobble, and hear a airflow and noise before choosing the model. If you see a video of a wall controlled ceiling fan, and it's slow on all speeds, the pull chain might not be on high. If the ceiling is really high up, I would recommend an industrial. Most industrials would need a wall/remote control to change speeds. I would recommend Banvil Goldline, Canarm, or Leading Edge. If the industrial is where people can throw things, I would recommend a cage. If a room is small, I would recommend 36", and if the room is large, I would recommend 52". If the room is large enough, it is recommended to get more than 1 fan. If the ceiling is low, make sure the ceiling fan has flushmount option before buying it. If you need a light, and the model does not come with the light, make sure it is light kit adaptable. If you are going to install it in the bathroom or porch, make sure it's damp rated. If you are going to install it where it can be rained directly on, make sure it's wet rated. I just want to make sure everyone chooses the right fan, because I have seen many people buying cheap fans, putting indoor fans outside, putting industrials in gym without cages and getting bent, or putting big fans in the small rooms.
