I'm curious if anyone remembers, or has seen, or has pictures of, the Hunter "2nd-Century Original"? I remember when I was a little kid, I had a Hunter catalog (it was either '94, '95, or '96). I remember the Originals were 4/5-blade then, and the Outdoor Original had the sailcloth blades (in your choice of blue, green, or white), and there was that retro art-deco diner-style 1930's Original, available in a variety of colors (never seen one of those in person, though). But I also remember that, right after the Original (which was the first model in the booklet), was the "2nd Century" original. I don't remember it too clearly, and it seems like such an elusive fan--no one ever seems to mention it. I've always been under the impression that it had a spinner motor, but the tubes of fan oil all say for "Hunter Original, 1930's Original, and 2nd Century Original fans", so I guess it must have been oil-bath. I seem to remember it being a 5-blade fan fan that had that same kind of sleek look as the Infinity and Studio Series. Anyhow, here is the only pic I could find; this is from Dan: Anyone have any input?

I've seen one of these at Disney's Animal Kingdom in Florida.

I haven't seen one of those fans in years, and never with 4 blades, though. I do remember seeing them in the catalog you speak of, Pierce.
These are definitely nice fans, but so rare nowadays.

That Second Century Original in the pictures is mine. It is cast iron, oil bath, with a 3 speed capacitor motor. Very heavy. I've never actually installed it.

It looks like it is hanging in the same place where Adam's Winco hung.

Your right it does. I wonder if it is?

How does it perform? I like it with 4 blades, 5 blades make it look overbearing.

I kinda like it with 5 blades. From what I remember this fan didn't have a long run, just like five years or so. I don't think I've ever actually seen one in person, aside from maybe on display in a store.

It is not hanging in the same place as Adam's Winco. These fans had a very short run, I am sure they were expensive.
It performs like an Original.

I love the second century originals. I have the Hunter catalog from 1995, and it is pictured in there. I haven't ever seen one in person, though.

Can you scan them or take some pictures of the catalog for us? I want to see the fans.
Thanks.

I have old catalogs as well, when I find time I can scan some, however I believe some are already scanned somewhere.

Hello, I just joined. I was given two 2nd century model 25251 Hunter fans and wondered if they are strictly indoor fans? I was originally going to install them in my porch, but I had second thoughts about that. I tried looking it up on Hunter fan website and it does not recognize the model number. Thanks for the help. Regards, Fred
