The current mods are on pretty often . . . and I will say, the LEAST likely way to get named a mod is to ASK to be one. That's a red flag. Agreed, for the most part. However I don't think it's wrong for a regular poster who has been on the board for years to want to help out, and even then he should go to Adam (or whoever has the power to assign moderators) in private. I'm not sure I would consider a new or inexperienced member if he asked, though.

To me it doesn't matter what company/software makes up the site, or who moderates it. At least it is still up and running and not full of spam. I have two forums that are on ProBoards, and being an admin for both of those is pretty simple. Sure, I could go to vB if I had the money to do so, but I think for what ProBoards offers, it suits most pretty darn well if you ask me.
So, thanks Mods for keeping VCF clean.

Not like we have a very large site either. For what we would put into vB I don't know that it would be worth it. Not saying the site isn't worth it, don't get me wrong, just saying I don't think we'd get a major result from it other than a fee. ProBoards suits our needs just fine for now and at those times when spam does show up, we get rid of it and it doesn't happen again for another long period of time.

Yeah, it's like I was discussing with Clay, to be a mod you need to have prove yourself to people here that you know what you're talking about and be neutral with good judgment on matters on the forum to deal with them appropriately. Age doesn't even matter too much (I'm proof of that), you just need to be responsible and know your stuff.
