I LOVE that, especially the chocolaty brown finish! Very interesting that blades were purchased separate. Great find!

.....I have just come to the realization that I have one of these things.. and that they were also made with 5 blades.

I was disappointed when I opened the box to see a newer version than what was pictured on the box. Thin, less rounded switch housing, more like a later ceiling fan. Only plus is the dark brown finish.. 5 blade version? the actual fan or one of the fans pictured on the box?

Methinks this fan is a newer version of the TAT Deluxe (or whatever the hell these things are). I'm referring to a fan similar to that of the actual fan inside the box, the newer version with the smaller switch housing (and surprisingly heavy motor). I went to a couple Habitats yesterday and noticed a 5 blade version of this thing (among a couple other nice things which have been added to my post in the "Your Collection?" thread on page 1) in antique brass with walnut blades. I would've gotten it if A.) one of the blade irons wasn't bent to the point of snapping off B.) if I had more cash and C.) if I hadn't seen a Lasko first.. ;D

There's a bit of similarities to the Codep WC series minus the wicker housing. The tats, who knows what they are, there seems to be really no name for them. Some have Tat Deluxe labels and other don't, some may not even have the TAT name on the label.

Yes, most of the newer TATs don't really say anything that specifically identifies them. However, they all do say "Hong Kong" on them and all have a finer pitched, non-standard thread for the always-phillips-head motor screws. They all also have a chunky, surprisingly heavy black cast iron motor, which is unusual for a mid-late 80s fan.
That Codep is either a TAT relabel or it came from the same factory as the real TATs.

I'm pretty sure that may be the case on the Codep..
