I have a Silkon ceiling fan that I can't find any wire diagram information. I also need a replacement wall switch with five speeds - forward and reverse. My search of local stores haven't heard of Silkon Ceiling fans and don't have a wall switch with more than 4 speeds. Will a 4 speed wall switch work? Will it allow the very high speed the fan now has? This house has several of these type fans that have been working great for over 20 years problem free. They really move the air when on Hi. I have purchased several fans at Home Depot, only to find they have just three speed settings. The Hi speed setting is no where near the speed of the Silkon Fans. The newer fans appear to have much larger motors but run much slower. Any help on wire diagram or replacement wall switch would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Silkon fans really aren't that common, you won't find a whole lot of information on them. The four speed wall controls will work fine, high will always be the same no matter what control you put it on, most people are concerned about the low (often faster on new controls than the original ones), that doesn't appear to be a problem for you though. Can't help much with the wiring until I know what specifically you need accomplished.
I'm very curious to know what style your fans are, I've only seen one type of Silkon (the style I have) and it's three speed controlled by a pullchain on the fan. If you ever have a chance to post pictures I'd love to see them.
I'm glad you're opting to keep these fans, because most of the crap they sell at Home Depot won't last you half as long as these fans have lasted you.
