Nothing odd about it except maybe for the brackets that does not have any bars in the middle which I LOVE. Those vents on the top are not particularly newer looking. My 4 Seasons GE vent 52'' 5 tight wave cane bladed also have those shape of vents on the top and its also from 1984. What makes it look newer on yours is the filigree sideband. My 1984 4 Seasons have a plain sideband (with very thick and heavy duty motor in it).
Notice it have the same style of switch housing as 4 Seasons(with offset pulls) and Commander.

No, nothing particularly odd about the fan itself, but it's odd for a Palm Air because they didn't typically do no bar brackets from what I've seen, and there are other subtle things that don't look quite Palm Air.

Still the vent holes on the top became popular in the 90s.. Few in the 1980s, but wasn't common
