I would, as I just drove a '17 3.5 EcoBoost Crew Cab a few weeks ago and loved it, but can't afford it.

You're right, it is a V50... I just thought it was a V40 because it looks like an S40 made into a wagon. Personally while there are some Volvos around here, there are no dealerships and not many places that work on them - and the parts for the newer ones I heard are very expensive, the Jeep might be a better choice in the long run repair wise. But there may be more Volvo dealers and shops in your area than mine. My friend's S40 started having issues so she traded it for a Kia Optima LX, my aunt's seems be good though, and she says she likes it, she had a Trailblazer before... I believe in Europe they just brought back the V40, yeah, it's confusing with the naming.

Get an older one, like an 09-10 Nah I want the EcoBoost engine... they're pretty reliable... if I got one I'd want at least a later XLT so I could get leather and SYNC, as well as power everything. I'd get a SuperCrew with the 6'5" box and 4WD.

A vehicle is the second most expensive thing you purchase besides a house... Get what you want, whats reliable, and don't get talked in for something you don't like. Also remember what you like from seeing it drive around or like from what you see on the internet isn't always as great once you actually drive it. When I was shopping last year, I thought I wanted a Chevy Colorado... Test drove a few Colorado/Canyons and felt it was too sluggish and I didn't like a few other things. Test drove a Silverado Double Cab and loved it minus how huge it was to park... Ended up with a 2015 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab which was just right for me.
Also buy what you CAN afford and think about can you afford a $600 a month payment if the ok paying job you have at the moment goes away and you have to get a minimum wage job can you still afford it.
Also some points not for Vincent necessarily but for anyone reading the thread: Realize pickups resale is insane 2wd trucks you can get cheaper. At the moment Sedans can be found cheap New and Used! My grandmom bought a '17 Camry for $6500 off sticker by doing some wheeling and dealing.

That's true on trucks, 10 year old ones are still almost $20,000 for the crew cab ones if you can find one with low miles. You can buy a new loaded out sedan for that almost if they want to clear them out. Now is a good time to get a 2017.
I've driven a couple regular cab Silverados and they were big enough, I can't imagine driving a crew cab, but I like the space they have more.
I've always been more for a used car with one owner and low mileage as long as it was taken care of, then drive it for a long time. My car I have now was an older car I bought used with only 23,000 miles on it. Now it has just over 130,000 on it and I've had it for 8 or 9 years already and very few repairs other than maintenance. I may get another 50,000 out of it before anything major happens. If I keep it that long I'll probably just get another used car with low mileage, probably a loaded one this time. Mine is pretty much base but not quite. But whether I trade now or later I wouldn't get anything much for it, so no point in getting in a hurry to get a new one.

Still has manual windows/locks/mirrors/seats but its still been a fantastic truck

When we had the 3.5TT EcoBoost F-150 as a rental we were getting 21-22 MPG. I would definitely want power windows and locks, as well as a leather interior. That's about all I require, those and the EcoBoost, even the 1st-gen one that debuted in the 2011 F-150.

I'd take the 3.7 or the 5.0 over the Ecoboost, I know way too many people who regret the Ecoboost and have complaints about it.

So a little update here. I'm looking to replace my '02 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0L 4X4 with something newer and more well-equipped. Right now, it's between two cars: either a 2011-13 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.6L 4X4, or a 2011-13 Volvo S60 T6 AWD (3.0L Turbo I6). Hoping to get something by the beginning of the year. Get the Jeep not the Volvo and this is coming from someone who will not buy any FCA vehicles (although I would like a Wrangler). My Aunt and a few others I know have Volvo's from 2010-2014 of different models all sorts of problems that were expensive repairs and the depreciation on them is horrendous.

I'd take the 3.7 or the 5.0 over the Ecoboost, I know way too many people who regret the Ecoboost and have complaints about it. My only issue about the 3.7 is it sucks to haul 5000+lb trailers, it makes its peak power way too high in the rev range. You basically have to hold it at 6 grand climbing hills. Other than that its fantastic for a daily driver/light hauler. It only has a 3.41" stroke so it loves to rev. Ive seen Mustang guys shift these engines at 7500rpm with no issues. Mine is tuned to shift at 6800rpm, so it basically pegs the tachometer.

I'm probably going to end up with an older version (2011-13, slightly older than our 2014) than what my dad has, a 3.6L Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 4X4 with leather... Volvo S60 T6's with AWD in the 2011-13 year range are not easy to find in my area.

I definitely want something good enough on gas, but with good power and fun to drive. My budget is around $14k give or take, so a Grand Cherokee would definitely fit my budget for what I'm looking for... mileage doesn't matter, either, so that'll save me some $$$ as long as it's well-maintained (i.e. driven by a salesman/saleswoman for interstate travel).

You don't need 4x4, a 2wd truck with some weight in the bed, good snow tires and possibly a limited slip differential will do fine in the snow.

Plus I wouldn't be investing money into snow tires, nor checking if the truck has a limited slip diff. Probably not getting a truck anyways. If I did, I'd get a 2nd-gen (2016+) EcoBoost F-150 SuperCrew 4X4 with the 10-speed auto.
