Check out these MainStays branded fans. These are Walmart's Newly 2-in-1 Multicolored 6-inch units. I got these three with a posibility of getting the Orange, Fuchsia and Gray. Sadly the Gray is gone and only a handful of Orange and Fuchsia that are NOT scratched remain. They look nice and all but the motor is an ultra tiny C-type. Still, the airflow is pretty decent for a 6-inch fan. Among these, Walmart also had custom versions of the 20-inch box style from Jarden in Red, Blue and Lime. For some odd reason those disappeared early on (taken out of the SKU system) and replaced with all-White units.

Hmm, the don't look half bad, but like you said, looks are only a part of it. I can honestly say that I don't like the two in one design, though these are some of the better looking ones I've seen with that design.

I was at a WalMart a couple days ago and saw these fans in different colors. Orange, purple, green, blue, red...I'm like "wow! perfect for the college dorm!" So I might buy one. I do have older fans though- a two speed oscillating desk fan from Walgreens (it's about ten years old and is a piece of crap) and a two speed 6" desk fan from the 80s (which is noisy as all hell- it makes a grrrr noise on startup and sounds like high winds on either speed). I'm not keen on these new Dyson fans..$300-$400 dollars for something that you can throw a ball through? College dorm boredom maybe, but not for that price! www.dyson.com/fans/default.asp www.dyson.com/international/default.asp?lang=enBy the way, you can find these at Bed Bath and Beyond and Best Buy. Those are the only places I've seen them. When I first saw them, I thought it was an ionizer, but then after figuring out how it worked, I was somewhat intrigued...until I saw the price. Simple but somewhat ugly.

Simple but somewhat ugly. Whatever remains now (which is not much) is all packed with the college back-to-school Clip-On Lamps and the other colorful stock at my local Walmart. The Dyson fan is also available at Target. Too Expensive. Too Modern for my taste. For me, A fan Should have something call blades in order to move air. Mr. Dyson makes Amazing and effective vacuum cleaners not fans.

I have seen many YouTube videos about this fan already- throwing lightweight items (balloons, kleenex, paper airplanes) is fun. Just...not for that price I agree. I still need to get my college dorm supplies.

Still an interesting fan...it is nice to have a smooth flow of air...but I like blades too. Visible blades.

I say these wallymart fans are nearing the verge of "retro" in terms of 80s style fans. For one, those transparent colored blades are a start. They just need to put in a bare-metal grille (instead of this) and it might look..odd. Okay I've said too much LOL.

They look nice and all but the motor is an ultra tiny C-type. Still, the airflow is pretty decent for a 6-inch fan. . How many different types are there? I'll add that I just was at my local Walmart and they have these fans- I saw purple and orange in addition to the colors you mentioned. By the way, Perrey, did you see the 20" Holmes box fans there at your Walmart? I saw magenta, red and green. And they had a green on display. It was on high. It was quiet, and didn't move much air. I need to go back to Walmart and see the rest of their fan stock.

It's impossible to sell over 300-Lasko, Galaxy, PowerMax and Holmes fans in 72-hours which is the time it took to vanished from the shelves. I have notice other (Walmart) locations put their fans on clearanceafter the season is over instead of hiding them. But this Walmart is different. Nothing is ever on Clearance., not even tainted milk, or poision infected lead toys. No, I was hoping to see those Holmes cheerful color box fans, but like I said on my original post, they removed them and replace them with boring All-White models before removing ALL fans. You could still order the color ones from their website and it will ship free to the store.

I was saying that the other day, Just chrome guards and White body stands and it's early 1980s once again. (Minus the motor of of course) Who knows what they'll make for next year.
