Happy birthday Mr 15!
Friday night I went to Entraide Mercier for the second time to meet up with David since October and got this brown 1984 4 Seasons Galaxy 36'' for you Philippe. It been sitting at Enraide Mercier for quiet a while. Thanks to David to reserve it for me.
I cleaned it really well and spend a part of the day fixing the brackets as one of the brackets was bent down. Now its a lot better. Almost no wobble anymore. They were some scratches on the blades so I fill them with a Touch-up Marker.
The blade finish is walnut and have the delicate floral stencil around it.
It has an audible deep hum which my 1982 NIB metal bladed one does not have but its totally understandable as this one is in used condition. The bearings on it are wow, no bearings noise at all. Its still pretty quiet, quiet enough for a bedroom.
It moves tons of air and reaches insane RPM. The thing I was surprised about, is that its generally faster RPM than my metal bladed one. Especially on speed 5 this one spins faster than my metal blader. Probably 80 Rpm for this one and my metal blader goes at around 65 Rpm on speed 5.
Its pretty much all complete except for the quiet 5-speed boxy wall control. Your gonna need to get a new quiet 3-speed control for it. Yes pretty much all complete means that it includes the original double claw hook! This is something that is often missing with theses. As you can see it also comes with the original yellow tassel!
If you really don't want cause you have no place to install it or for what ever reason its ok, I will keep for myself, I too like a lot theses little spinners.
I just what to remind you that Jesse is supposed to give me his chrome Galaxy 36'' (3-speed pull chain) at the end of June just in cause you would prefer more the chrome ball & socket 3-speed model.
Here are the two brothers Galaxy next to each others.
