2007 Canadian Tire catalogue I didn't know they made the Paradise up until 2007. At that point it wouldn't have been an SMC fan though. From last week-end, This set of blades I don't know anything about it, brand ? model ? I believe those came from a Monte Carlo Avanti "Extreme Green" fan: 28th, 2007 Mainstays / Wal Mart hugger white/bleached oak blades canderela bulb Fan came in this Uberhaus box, from Rona How does it perform? And for this week, This is what I got in 4 days... 5 fans ! Wow, that's a lot! Our ReStore sometimes gets less than four fans in one month! 29th, 2000 Canarm Mystic in white and Pb Probably one of the most common Canadian Tire fans of all time, beside the For Living Scandinavian. 30th, Undated SMC Park Avenue No sticker on motor top How I got it How I sold it I usually like to reverse the blades from cane to plain wood as well. Fans usually sell faster that way. 31st, 2006 SMC-Airworks park avenue It actually looks like a Zongshan Wei He. Notice the blade tips, globes and pendents. 32nd, First of two, 1986 Banvil in polished brass. Finish is tarnished, 33rd, Two of two, 1986 Banvil in polished brass Finish is less tarnished than the first one. Nice Banvils! Too bad about the finish though. Very different from the Likewise "Hugger" fan of today! In store this week, Double duet You're one lucky man, LOL! I don't think I've ever had a double duet on display over at our ReStore.

Max, The Paradise from the Canadian Tire catalogue was avaiable until 2007, or maybe 2008 It was made By airworks,
For the mainstays Hugger, I can't tell you how it performs because I don't really like to hang hugger fans on my test rack.
I tested this one upside down on a counter top
I don't have that many fans each week, each month i don't get a lot of fans 2 in January 7 in february 11 in March 2 in April 12 in May and as for today (june 22nd, 5 in June) 39 since the beginning of the year.
At my restore and as you said it seems to be the same thing at yours fans sells faster when they are neutral. If they don't have a light kit and are white, they'll be for sale longer.
The present version of the NIB SMC i got 3 weeks ago is not made anymore by likewise, it seems to be a lot cheaper. I got in the past 5 years many fans of this model, all made between 1995 and 2010 and each time, the older fan is still in perfect condition.

Max, The Paradise from the Canadian Tire catalogue was avaiable until 2007, or maybe 2008 It was made By Airworks, Interesting. It might have been Jean that said he thought they stopped making them in 2006, but 2007/8 makes a lot more sense. For the Mainstays Hugger, I can't tell you how it performs because I don't really like to hang hugger fans on my test rack. I tested this one upside down on a counter top I've had one of those Mainstays hugger's before. One of the worst fans I've ever worked with! I don't have that many fans each week, each month I don't get a lot of fans 2 in January 7 in February 11 in March 2 in April 12 in May and as for today (June 22nd, 5 in June) 39 since the beginning of the year. You've had more fans in May then we did here! I think there were only three the whole month At my restore and as you said it seems to be the same thing at yours fans sells faster when they are neutral. If they don't have a light kit and are white, they'll be for sale longer. Very true. Cane just isn't popular these days. Brass fans especially with cane can sometimes take weeks or even a month to sell whereas oil rubbed bronze and brushed nickel/pewter fans sell in as little as an hour. The present version of the NIB SMC I got 3 weeks ago is not made anymore by Likewise, it seems to be a lot cheaper. I got in the past 5 years many fans of this model, all made between 1995 and 2010 and each time, the older fan is still in perfect condition. As far as I know, there were five main generations of the fan: Generation 1 1995 to 1996 - SMC-made. Used a large motor and classic SMC hugger style mounting bracket, just like the NIB one you just got. Generation 2 1997 to 1999 - SMC-made. Used a slightly smaller motor and standard hugger mounting bracket. Sometimes sold under the name Super or Airworks. Generation 3 2000 to 2004 - SMC-made. Used a smaller, much cheaper motor and motor housing. Was no longer available in Verde Green. Sometimes sold under the name Super or Airworks. Generation 4 2005 to mid-2008 - Zongshan Wei He-made. Used an undersized, noisy motor and slightly different motor housing and hardware from the previous SMC-made version. Was sold as a generic/unbranded fan or under the name Super or Airworks. Generation 5 late 2009, or possibly early 2010 to present day - Zongshan Wei He-made. Exact same as the previous version, but with candelabra sockets. Was sold as a "generic", unbranded fan or currently under the name Likewise.

The Mainstays Hugger was a piece of scrap. the fan was very light and the blades were very small
In 2013, I had 16 fans in June and 10 in september
Talking about the smc fan made me realise that everything is getting cheaper with time.

In the beginning of June, I decided to bring home the NIB verde SMC hugger The fan will be part of my bedroom remodel. The walls are white, with black and bleached oak furniture and red accents. My Beacon Hill wasn't fitting anymore. But don't worry, it will be use somewhere else in my house. The blades are a perfect match with the furniture. I paid 15$ for the fan, and paid for paint A lot cheaper than a new black fan. This SMC is a temporary fan until I find something else. I also brought home 2 table lamps that I painted the same black. The pictures are in order, the last ones are from yesterday (June 22nd) I will try to install the fan somewhere in the weekend or next week because I had to repaint one of the brackets. The light kit came from a Nadair I got in June 2013 That looks awesome David! I can't wait to see the final product The Mainstays hugger was a piece of scrap. The fan was very light and the blades were very small. Same with the one I got. In fact during installation, one of my finger nails rubbed against one of the blades which took the finish right off! In 2013, I had 16 fans in June and 10 in September. June has been odd over here at our ReStore. The fans fan been mostly new Hampton Bay's from Home Depot. Talking about the SMC fan made me realize that everything is getting cheaper with time. Oh believe me I know! I could probably start a 12-page thread about my thoughts on that if I wanted to...

Final product will be in the middle of July... I'm very happy with the paint job, it was my first time so it's not perfect
June was odd too around here. I got in the month 10 fans, I kept the first one, had to trash 6 fans and i still have an hunter without mounthing and two newer cheap airworks from Zellers.

The first time I tried it, it dripped allover the place and made a huge mess June was odd too around here. Which models are they (the Hunter specifically, but I'm curious about the Airworks' as well)?

week's sightings - Part I I finished this week the paint job on the smc with original light kit when the new one was in progress with new light kit The fan has a loud humming, I might not keep it as long as I expected. table lamps Took a picture of the 4 fans in the main part of the store, Canarm Tempest Also found a magazine form the mid 2000,s with pictures of Donald Trump's house And a box from Nadair 41st, 2010 Hunter Augusta No canopy, mounting and downrod. went to the scrap Black/rosewood blades 42nd, 2007 Canarm Twister/Lincoln what you see is what I got. Also went to the scrap 43rd and 44th 2010 Airworks from zellers white/bleached oak blades 45th, 2002 Canarm hugger white blades on both sides 46th, 1999 Encon Royal Crown humming, and damages on the blades decided to keep it 47th undated top mount spinner the writing on the sticker was gone, but it had the shape of a nadair's sticker so I'll assume it's a Nadair 48th, was in the same box as precedent fan, light kit was also in the box but not on the fan light cover from my storage 1990 alaska speed pull chain low-med-high

The SMC painted in black looks pretty nice. It matches very well the finish of the blades. I love the contrast. The light kit is too big in proportions. A triple light kit would have probably been better. I have one with three lights that I could have gave you. How are the speeds with the new control?
The Nadair Murano box is awesome. Notice the South African phone number. They still have their South African website. It brings back memories. I remember their lamps made in Canada with Italian made Murano glass.
Wow! I didn't know Zellers sold Airworks ceiling fans. That explains why I never saw those ceiling fans at Canadian Tire. Airworks ceiling fans were usually exclusive at Canadian Tire.
I love the small four blade spinner. I'm pretty sure it's a Nadair too. It would make sense. The 220V equivalent that were sold in France are Nadairs. I might want to buy it even though it's scratched but I would need to know how it works.
