Hey all, I was wondering if anybody out there has (or knows where I can find) two mounting brackets designed for a fan with a washer and grommet that bolts into the electrical box. The fans are currently hung by J hooks but the hooks arent in securely enough and I would feel much safer if they were securely attached to the electrical box. Let me know if you can help!

Are you referring to those double-claw hook brackets used by many Moss, Ritz, and View-Fans?

I dont think those are the ones. Basically, one thing I've seen looks like the standard cross bar you would use to hang a light fixture but theres a "V" indent in the middle to accomodate the washer and gromet. The other thing I've also seen is basicall a j-hook attached to a crossbar that bolts to the electrical box.

Sorry if my phrasing came out wrong initally, what I mean was that I need to find two of them for use on two different fans, lol.

They were used mostly by friction-drives and other early 80s Emersons. I think Nutone had something similar. Also.. fans like these are usually rather easy to convert to ball/socket. However, if one were to encounter a threaded downrod with no pin holes, I do have access to threaded metal hanger balls.

I would convert it to ball/sockey but its a 3/4" downrod that the fan uses (its actually the brown Banvil in my signature pic). Thats the same fan I'm looking to replace that bizarre canopy with the brown Evergo bell. I have two of that fan and would like something other than J-hook for them because I've already seen the fan unscrewing when in reverse. NOT something one likes to see after having paid a fortune for a RARE childhood fan! lol I'm surprised these brackets are so hard to find.

If you contact Envirofan/Banvil you can get some of those box-acceptable J-hooks I think. I got a few a while back, seems like they revamped now though, so I guess you'd just have to contact them and find out if you can get them still.

I think I tried emailing them once and never got a response. If I cant find anything from anyone on here, I'll try to give them another shot. I think I remember something about having to print out an order sheet and fax it to them... pain in the azz.

I think I called them, but don't remember where I got the number unless it was on the site. That seems like a lot of unnecessary fooling around with the order sheet and faxing.
