Hey, everyone! I was at Ace Hardware the other day, and I noticed they still had a bunch of NOS Lakewoods . I went back today and bought a HV9 (High Velocity 9") fan. It was $25, but it was definitely worth the money! It has 3 speeds and was made in 2008. This thing moves a HURRICANE of air! WOW!!! The box: [a href=" "] [/a] Here it is : [a href=" "] [/a] [a href=" "] [/a] [a href=" "] [/a] [a href=" "] [/a] [a href=" "] [/a] Running, shown on low: [a href=" "] [/a] [a href=" "] [/a] The instructions: [a href=" "] [/a] The reason I bought this fan (besides the fact that it's a Lakewood, which is no longer around ) was because I wanted to upgrade the fan in my room. For about 6-7 years now, I've used this noisy Windmere, which doesn't move a whole lot of air: Before: [a href=" "] [/a] After ;D : [a href=" "] [/a] Don't worry, I'm not going to trash the Windmere; I just wanted something a bit better for everyday use. I'll get the video as soon as possible! Enjoy!

These last gen. Lakewoods are terrible, but I want one just for the box and last generation of the logo, I have almost every other generation of Lakewood fan, but all of these last gens. left around here are still full price so I don't want to pay that.

Well, I don't know, I was actually pretty impressed with this fan. What part about it stinks?

Oops, I'm sorry, that's in comparison to what the Lakewood high velocity fans used to be. For a newer fan, they're actually okay besides the motor being somewhat small. It's definitely an improvement on the Windmere in the air movement department. I think they move pretty good air as well, but it's nothing compared to the ones with blue blades and such.

Well, it's better than the last box fans from Lakewood. I picked one up at Menards to use in the garage, and in addition to being noisy, the thing moves almost no air! I can imagine those little fans are good in a bedroom...

Cole, are you talking about those plastic white fans with zero pitch and no torque? Did Lakewood make those? I can't seem to remember.
The only fans Lakewood now sells are one table fan, one stand fan, and two (or three) floor fans (not box like, but just not my favorite either).
This fan I wouldn't mind owning however if I could ever find one.
Quick question though- are Holmes and Lasko fans considered junk these days? I know Windsmear are...

Uh, IDK. They're the ones with the braced blades (aka strips of plastic between blades to hold them straight). I can post pics if you want.
Holmes I think are junky these days. Lasko isn't bad, and without Lakewood on the market it's one of the best alternatives available.

I only paid $15 for mine, it's the cheapest box fan I could find locally for the first few warm months. It's funny, at Menards they have a bunch of leftover Lakewood box fans priced at $15, and Lasko box fans priced at $20. Why the average person would ever spend $5 more on "just a fan" I'll never know.
I've invested $30 in the things though, one I'm leaving in the box for the keepsake aspect, and one is going to be the garage ventilation work horse until it dies, at which time it will go back in its box (which I saved) and I'll hang onto it for sentimental reasons.
