The brackets were replaced. They were clearly originally some other fan . . . but I dont recall Menards ever selling Friction Drives. What other fans used that canopy? Your Original knockoff. Who says those fans originally had to be Menards-sold fans? Other places don't necessarily use their own fans... at least one of my local Home Depots has some clearly non-Hampton Bay metal bladed industrials installed, as did the one where I used to live... also, I don't think ANY of the Super Walmarts around here use their own fans (albeit for good reason, of course). I thought about the Original knock off. Wish we knew the brand. I think I've seen it on other fans too. Menards, in every every every every every example I've seen, only installed fans they sold. They took them right off the shelves. Same with Ace and True Value franchises.

Nice find! I wish both Summer Breezes had either 4B or 5B so they'd match. That one replacement fan apparently uses the old fan's downrod but the new fan's canopy. You should ask them about the now-replaced Bananafan, maybe you can get it. What they should've done is get replacement blade brackets and blades and then put them on the replaced Bananafan and they wouldn't have had to replace it. (:

But lets be realistic, is it more trouble to go and get all these parts to fix it or for them to just "store supply" a fan off the shelf they might buy for $12 and mark up to $75 to you and me and that way they have a whole new thing.
What my point is, is that normally its easier for someone like that business to use something they already have to put up rather then search for parts and so forth... We may know its a better fan and all but they want it done end of story.. Keep profits up and keep the workers at high productivity.

Ah! So we see it! Really cool install as usual, wish more had survived. For reference, Dan texted me when he found this, I was hoping we'd see it. (: The old fan is long gone within two weeks, they wouldn't keep a "broken" fan lying around for employees to trip over. And like Clay said, it's so much easier to grab a fan off their own shelf and just slap it up. A business is not going to take the time to find replacement parts when they sell ceiling fans in their own store.

I did ask about the broken fan, and left my number.
I hope Cole or I can save the remaining fan before the store is closed.

If the store's closing, I'd think they'd not put up another fan in place of a broken one.
Do you plan to save the Hunters? Not that I want them, but I know Cole has a thing for those Hunters. (:

Only reason I would save them is for the banana fan canopies.

I don't have much of a thing for Summer Breeze's, I just have one of each of the most common finishes. I don't plan on getting anymore except maybe a replacement for my AB one since it's so greasy and dusty. The Banana Fan canopies are the main reason for saving.
I hope to get down there to check this out, among other things like the zoo.

Cole, feel free to leave your number with the Menards people. Heck, maybe if you bought a fan off the shelf, they'd switch it out. Just make sure to let them know we're working together, not competing.

Will do. I've gotta ask the folks if we're going down there. We were gonna go to the state fair, didn't work out but I know my dad has been looking to go down again.

Right, we have to take a swing around a few places so I hope it will fit in the lineup.
