LOVE the Union.
I really like the concept of the SMC install. It would look a LOT cooler with cane, but I understand that your parents don't care for it. The wood blades look good. I actually do like the four-light kit, but I'm not sold on the glass. A bowl light kit would look hideous in my opinion - the fan is way too vintagey for something so modern.

Still thinking on those globes, white swirled glass doesn't work too well with AB. It's so hard to go vintage without looking ridiculous in this room, there is literally not one speck of anything in there that looks older than 2001 that I could coordinate a fan with. The best I can do is to match blades with the cabinets and fireplace mantle, which these teak blades pulled off quite nicely.

Vintage fans dont always look vintage. Classic fans like Originals, Zephyrs, etc, are timeless. It's just about matching with other finishes in the room.

Update to my house...I'm not happy with my Encon in the bathroom so I'll be searching for something else lol but other than that I think I'm finally good with everything Living Room: Hunter Archive Original Dining Room: Casablanca Spirit Of Saturn...was debating putting a brass fan up but was unsure...my GF said she likes this fan though so I'm leaving it afterall Kitchen: 30" Casablanca Pasadena Athena II Den: 36" Hunter Original...when I rip apart this whole room I'll put in a deep box on a 2x4 and be able to just use the bottom part of the vaulted ceiling mount, right now I have a pancake box against an existing joist. ALL the electrical in this room is temporary as well btw. I have 2 of my vintage lights wired up to a light switch and the fan plugs in to an outlet Storage Room (was going to be office but plans changed lol): 42" Atlantic Air Spinner Hallway: 30" Encon Princess Bathroom: 30" Encon Petite Guest Bedroom: Casablanca Zephyr Tenant's Bedroom: US Hunter Archive Original...once she moves out I'll take it down and see what I can do about the paint Master Bedroom: Hunter Original Nothing in the carport yet but I'm Probably going to put my BN 42" Gazebo 2 up there ...I did take the Grayton down

Black Original is back up in my bedroom, no pics since it's just one update. Was gonna maybe try a 38" Original where the Panasonic is but didn't bother since I like the Panasonic.

Here is an update for me, did some changing around: Family room: 1993 Fasco Charleston with different shades: Kitchen: 1983 Casablanca Zephyr with a different light kit: Living room: 1984 Hunter Original (unchanged) Spare bedroom: 1988 Casablanca Zephyr IT Replaced the Delta II since the off-white didn't match too well. Hate on the light all you want, but it's the only white multi-light kit that I got and my folks and I both like it, so it stays. My bedroom: 1981 Hunter Original. Reversed the blades to the darker wood finish and made a switch cap for it from a piece of sheet steel and put that light on it. One of these day's I'll redo the original blades and put them back on. Master bedroom: 1996 Encon Imperial (unchanged) Basement: replaced the CEC hugger with the 1987 SMC U42. Game room: Did a twin install with my 2 Carriage House IIs. I would have used something cooler but this is my only matching set. Fan room: Moss spinner and 1982 Hunter Original: Finally, the garage: 2002 Hampton Bay Littleton (unchanged)
