Concord Empress 52-EM
I had a burned out speed transformer. I replaced it with a whole new electical package from Concord (nice service, although not under the lifetime motor warrantee, they gave it to me no charge) - new trans, switches, capacitor, all pre-wired. I just had to add my lights to the black/white wires and plug the female connector into the motor units male connector.
Lights worked, and the blades run in all 3 speeds, but only in reverse, not forward. I checked the reverse switch and it seems to have the right continuity on both the forward and reverse settings when switched back and forth. Since this was pre-wired I am thinking it's probably not a wiring issue. I am guessing the motor is burnt out or shorted in the forward direction. But I have no idea how these motors are wired and if it is reasonable that it could run in reverse and not in forward and still be a motor problem.
This has a 188 x 20 motor.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Bill

I would think if the motor is burnt out, it would not work in both directions.. You may not have the fan wired correctly
