I have a FASCO ceiling fan model 938 (with lamp) that I do not know how to connect. I have 4 solid copper wires (black, red, white and naked) coming out of the ceiling. The fan has black, blue, green and white wires (plus green ground). The light fixture housing attached to the fan hub has two white wires (wrapped together) and a blue and red wire (wrapped together) and the corresponding light fixture has only a white and black wire (with the white one connected to a little black rectangular box that also has a red wire coming out. Can anyone help? Thanks!

By the way, thre is a second green wire attached to the metal mounting bracket which I assume is another ground; should I connect that to the other green one with the bare copper wire?

Yes, you connect both grounds with the copper wire. The rest of what Richard told you was correct.

Did the fan work as you had it connected? Blue and red together sounds weird.

Blue and red is how our wiring works as well. It's wierd, but that's how the switch for separate light and fan, or two separate switches, would connect to make the light separate.

I meant within the fan. Blue and red are usually the two speeds for the motor, OR one of the two is the light wire.
