It's Christmas, which means time for the annual obligatory "Fans in the Houses You Visited for Christmas" thread. As you know, some of the coolest fans around might be in the houses of your friends, relatives, or people in your church, waiting for you to find them!
I didn't go anywhere new, but I was pleased to still find the Crompton Greaves Encon and the two 42" variable speed Codep-type fans in my aunt's house, still hanging where they've been for years.

We didn't visit anyone for Christmas this year...we had the party at our house.
I did notice that the owners of a nice Colonial in an upper class Dearborn neighbourhood put two of those brass Hampton Bay "Antigua's" on their fornt porch. That was a few weeks ago, before all the rain and snow hit. We all know what those things are gonna look like after six months of Michigan weather...blades pointed down and the brass will look like complete crap...Who makes that model for Hampton Bay anyway, SMC?

I didn't go anywhere for Christmas either, but I do know someone who has one of those HB Antiguas on a back porch near a swimming pool. I just don't think it is a good fan to use outdoors, especially since it is a more expensive Hampton Bay. I'm not sure who makes the Antigua, maybe King of Fans? It doesn't really scream SMC to me, but you never know.

We did not go anywhere for Christmas. We are going to my neighbors for a New Years Party. She has Hampton Bay fans Quick Connect all in white and some have lights. On the back porch there are 2 Hampton Bay Gazebos and one in the garage. Her house was built in 2004-2005. I thought they were decent fans. I did not know the Antigua is an outdoor fan. IMO the HB Palm Beach is a good outdoor fan. My next door neighbor has a white one in the kitchen. Another neighbor has black ones in the living room, kitchen, and 2 in the sunroom. And I believe the Antigua is King Of Fans. If you go on Home Depot's website and look at fan specs, it will tell.

Judging from Home Depot's website, the Antigua is not an outdoor-rated fan. Either the homeowners made a stupid choice and picked a more expensive fan to ruin, or an ignorant, fast-talking Home Depot employee got to them when they went shopping.

I didnt go anywhere out of the ordinary for the Holidays. We visited the same family we always visit. One aunt has Minkas, the other a new Hunter. I did, however spot what looked to be a very unusual fan in the house next door to my aunt. I'd never noticed it before, I primarily saw the canopy. Next time I go back I'll get a closer look.
