In response to Adam's recent fan finds 'from the side of the road' I have wondered why is it that he finds so many? In my neighborhood I can hardly find any by the road and those I find are newer wal-mart or kmart cheap fans. Why is it that there are never any older or expensive fans? The closest I've ever gotten to getting a nice free fan was when my neighbor was going to give me a mint 36" Hunter Original and my wife would not let me have it.
Another funny thing is that yesterday I saw a fan sticking out of my next door neighbors trash. I went after dark to look at it so no one would see me. When I picked it up, water poured out on me and I was so annoyed. Plus it smelled like mold. Also the neighbor across the road had turned her porch light on and came out right after I picked it up. She saw me and I was so embarassed, I put the fan down and snuck away. She probably thought I was a robber or something. It was just a cheap wal-mart brass and white builder with five blades and the light kit was gone with wires hanging out everywhere. All I read on the label was made in China.
I should have tried harder 2 weeks ago to pick up the cool antique brass ge vent fan they threw out.
