We have a Moss Manufacturing Ceiling Fan, Model HF, Heirloom Collection (856X) that was purchased for me by my father in the early 1980's. We moved and took the fan with us, but never re-installed it.
It's been stored in a garage for a long while and insects have eaten away the fabric screening inside the housing or the fabric has rotted away. Could be either -- we are on the Texas Gulf Coast, so lots of bugs and humidity.
We want to install the fan in a house we are having built. Does anyone know if or where we can get replacement screening? Would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks.

No, I don't. We just re-packed it for shipment, so can't get one now. It looks like this one, though, except my blades are different: Moss HF 100 Heirloom Ceiling FanThe second photo on that page shows the black fabric. It's a finer weave than window screening.

Thanks, Dan. I'm thinking that's what I'll have to do. Sure would have been nice to find original parts, though. For sentimental reasons. Thanks again.

here is also another thing you can do,if you find a same/similar fan like yours(has that "GE VENT" type/style of motor housing) in somebody's curb or in dumpster or junk yard..etc & it's NOT in working condiction and/or missing the fan blades/blade arms & it hs a perfect looking/in good shape screen on the vents, you can take the screen out of that motor & put it in your own fan's motor vents(IF you ever find a fan(s) in somebody's curb)..just a thought.

Or just use the whole motor housing.
If you send me a picture of the fan I MIGHT have parts.
Didnt realize it was that important. In my Taras, I just want something that looks similar.

I meant the housing, not the motor inside.

Thanks, Jeremy. That's a good idea, but finding one under those conditions may be difficult. Dan, in my second post, I posted a link to a fan that is like mine except for the blades. I'll post it again: Moss HF 100 Heirloom Ceiling FanAs I mentioned before, I packed the fan for shipment. We took it and a load of stuff to Colorado last week, so even if I wanted to unpack it to take pics, I can't now (I'm in Texas).
