I have a fan, 52", no company markings, Model M52CU, UL 6H34. It is a 5-blade with lighting option. The motor has 4 wires (grey, brown, red, white), the capacitor is 3-wire (red one end, yellow & purple other) CBB6-1, switch has L-1-2-3 posts, no reverse.
I need to locate a wiring schematic.

Is that the original pullchain?
I need a picture of the rest of it, so maybe I can indentify the brand.

Look closer. The top of the motor is scalloped, the bottom is smooth.

Looks a lot like an encon/westinghouse newport, only with a different light.

The fan is from Target. It has 5 asymmetrical maple-ish blades that are shaped somewhat like an uppercase "D" when looking at the fan from below.

The housing is similar to your photo. There's a hole for a reverse switch but there never has been one. Looks like a manufacture date of 02 2000.

Blades are precisely as JW described.

To start out, the letters and numbers on your pullchain correspond to the lead wire and speeds: "L" = lead wire, or the positive wire from the power supply. "1" = high; "2" = medium, and "3" = low.
Normally you would match the wires up by color, but it appears that the wires from your pullchain aren't coded that way. For example, the lead wire going into it is gray; usually it's black. Also, the wire for low (coming out of the "3" hole in the switch) is white. This means you can't connect all the whites together. Either your black or your gray could be your lead wire. The blue one coming from the motor is for the light.
Are you sure there's never been a reverse switch? Judging from the number of wires coming from the motor, it sure seems like you could use one.
I'm stumped.
