So I got back from my annual trip down to the Hill Country (San Marcos/New Braunfels, Texas) to tube the river... if you ever get the opportunity to go, DO IT. Not only are there miles of river to float down (you could literally spend an entire day floating and not get done), there is a village in New Braunfels called GRUENE (pronounced "Green") that is literally LOADED with hundreds and hundreds of brown and black Hunter Originals. A good majority of them, if not all of them, were supplied by Texas Ceiling Fans in Austin, a place I've visited and posted pictures of several times.
This board seems to not like hotlinked pictures for some reason; if the pictures don't show up, copy and paste the link into a new browser window. Only the first one is from our trip; I Googled the rest of them and there's no doubt there are countless other pictures online.
The General Store has ridiculously cheap sodas and Blue Bell Ice Cream, as well as a handful of black Originals to cool down the souvenir shoppers:
Gruene Hall, the oldest dance floor in the state, has all sorts of brown Originals - 70s, 80s, 90s, 4-blade, 5-blade, horseshoe and moon brackets. Many of the ones in the front room have schoolhouse globes and are perfect in this setting.
The Grist Mill restaurant has the most fans, with and without light kits. Some of them appeared to be going ridiculously fast, even for Originals. The friends that I went with, unaware of my interest in fans, were actually complaining that the air from all the fans was drying their eyes and contacts out, and were trying to move out from under them! You won't get that in a room full of builderfans
