I was recently near a barber shop that had 3 Supreme spinners (no switch housing) one with blade broke clean off. They still run all three on high.
My elementary school had a TON of cool box fans. Lots of GEs, Manning Bowmans, Eskimos, Laskos, and others. I ended up getting a few of them.
The two bladed fans sound like Fresh'nd-Aires.

Yep. They were like these, pulled from AFCA: Very scary when running. Especially as a kindergartner, it was massive. What was cool is that the pull chain switch had the little speed display like the Dayton/Lasko's.

Your ELEMENTARY school had those stand fans?! They're basically asking for some kid to stick their hand in there and get amputated!!!
I don't think a ceiling fan would last long where I teach either. The students' favorite pastime is throwing stuff at the ceiling already.

When I was in 5th grade I brought in a bunch of antique fans for them to use. They put them on high shelves.

Well, yeah. They were used on stage. My kindergarten room (it was next to the auditorium) had an older GE table fan.
