Try eBay, or Don Taussig for these parts.

Yeah, try where Dan has mentioned these parts are available. I have a small collection of Hunter Originals, but i'm not currently selling any parts, as I need them to supplement my own fans that I work on. You could also check out www.fancollectors.org. It pertains mostly to antique desk fans, but there are a few ceiling fan guys on there that might be of help.

About 10 years ago I picked up a 52" Original motor from a used furniture/junk store for $5. I purchased a new oil cup/switch housing, blades, irons, switch and canopy from Hunter in Memphis. The total bill came to about $100, but that was a fraction of what a comparable new fan would have cost, and IMO mine turned out to be a better looking and better working fan.
I haven't tried contacting the Hunter company lately. Does anyone know if they still sell replacement parts for US-made Originals? I have several that I am trying to restore, and need various irons, blades and canopies.
And what about internal working parts for the motor, like leather and felt rings and bearings?

Why did you need a new switch cup?
they should still sell all the parts except the stator itself, as they are the same on the new Originals. See my pic on ToViewFans.

I notice from the Hunter website that some versions of the new pseudo-Originals they are now selling come with adapt-aire blades. I haven't tried calling the company, but I wonder if they sell the adapt-aire mechanism and blades separately, and if these new ones would fit a 1980's Original.

Good question. I havent yet attempted to determine this. The new Adaptaires look a little different to me.
