a good ol k55 fan motor with intellitouch controls + pc board that will fit my homestar? I want to switch out the motor (avoiding the effing 200 dollars in converting the fan to intellitouch.) Will I be able to find a 6 blade flywheel that will accept the new-ish motor as well as the blade arms? Will the nose cap also accept it?

Trevor If you want to avoid $200 don't even think about trying to get a new motor. In that case, we are talking $250+ for just the motor, nothing else. The old flywheel would fit if the shaft was the same size. Hope this helps.

just ship the fan to dan, he can hook you up,lol once again i state " why not try to work it on the bench i.e. hook it up directly to the switch, no house wiring in the way! it may be the wiring of the house trevor, NOT the fan Uh, Brian, house wiring won't screw with this fan the way it has been acting... But then again, I may be wrong. It may actually be worth a try Trev, but blame Hicks, not me if it gives you the same result .

already tried all ways of wiring the fan known to man to get it to work properly. Could I get a somewhat used casa motor for less? i want to get a new flywheel period for the fan, as the current one is unreliable even if mint. I guess i may just get it converted and buy a new flywheel....ahhh this sucks....lol

I would just pack the fan away for now and wait till you get the $200 to buy the Intelli-Touch conversion kit. I may be able to get one for you cheap, I'll look into it.

That isn't bad pay at all. Most people who start jobs start at around $7 an hour, so yeah, like I said, not bad at all.

hey sean.....do you think you could let me maybe tackle this one....i was hopin to fix it and put it in my parents bedroom or the guest room. as of right now, theres a hole in the ceiling of my bedroom and guest room. Im doing a deal with dan to try and get a fan in my room, but im seeing what i can do about the guest room and parents room. I can understand if you wouldnt wanna go out of getting it. Theres no guarantee i could, but id like to try and fix it if you didnt have alot of use for it. whatever you decide, its alright man...
