These used to scare me as a kid.
I thought the Heat Circulator was just an industrial fan.

what use to scare me when i was young was my grandparent's centrel heating/air unit,it's located in their hallway(where their bedrooms and one of their bathrooms at)and when i was young,i get scared of their centrel heating/air unit while it's running cause the sound of the motor sounds like houling noise and i hated it(like everytime i go there and when i want to go to their bedroom and/or bathroom i either waited till their unit goes off or put fingers in my ears when i walk past it)...
my middle school's gym use to have those gas heaters.

Yeah, especially with the upstairs one having a broken cover. There was no shield from the flame and my face. I've seen a giant one in NY once. It's comparable to a Big Ass Fan in the ceiling fan world.

These things also scared me, they are huge and looks SO Heavy. Also all the wires are exposed on the back. They usually make a awful of noise. Yes the exposed flam scared me but I am also scared to see one of those falling from the ceiling/wall one day. They are just very Ugly. Most of the ones I have seen around are Honeywell branded.
In my home here we also have a pretty old central heating system. It make a weird sound when start up. It also lite up some blue flames under it.
Jeremy you are really afraid of fire? In general I am not. I love candles, they are beautiful. Most of the time we eat with candles on the table and dimmed a lot the chandelier over the table. I looks nice and economized electricity. I alwayse keep at least one candel in my bedroom.

I don't like gas, because years ago my father tried to light the gas heater and it blew up on him and burned off his eyebrows. That used to happen alot with gas appliances that you had to light. The newer ones light automatically.
Interestingly, I had an experience with a big gas heater like that in your picture ben. There were two and when one of them was turned on one day, it let out a "bang!" and it blew the side cover off! It was replaced with a new unit. The one in your picture appears to have another fan on the exhaust duct. I don't think I've seen that before.
