My uncle just bought a new (cough cough) house built in 1950. The previous owner basically left the house in a filthy condition, trash all over the place, for my uncle to clean up. (Dan this is where I've been all week, I'll call you tommorow) The house has a HB St. Claire in the living room and a Hunter in the bedroom.

No fans on the porch? What about the bath and entry room? No, no fans on the porch. The neighborhood is.....questionable, at best. Besides, the outdoor elements do not work wonders for fan and blade finishes. I would see if there are any free/surplus paint suppliers in your area. Also check with Habitat for Humanity. I saved so much money on the house, I'm going to get some nice paint...not something some 3-toothed drunk hick shiit into a can. But thanks for the advice . Just based on the pictures of the inside of the house, I would expect to see some "kichenfans" in there, and other simple, lower-budget 70s looking fans. Yeah, I'm probably going to put my brown kitchenfan in the kitchen. I'm picking paint colors to go with my favorite fans.

No offense, but most of the smaller, older houses around here from around this time period have very few fans, and those that are installed seem to be newer cheap fans from the Dollar General or Walmart. A. Like Dan said, who're you worried about offending? B. So what? I'm putting up my own fans. I don't give a rat's duodenum what other people have in their homes. The A/C unit is probably large, because it is an all in one unit (it has no air handler evaporator unit in the house). Are you talking about my house?

My neighbor used to have one of those. The evaporator coils are inside the outside unit. It's all one unit, instead of two.
