Oh, you're moving? That puts you further away from me, and you can't threaten me that you'll be able to drive over here, beat me up, and get home before sunrise (well you can do that if you speed, but... . Does the new house have any fans (you should expect this question from a fan website)? That's true though that you'll be nearer to more fan collectors, as I remember a majority of people are from that quadrant of the US.

That's true though that you'll be nearer to more fan collectors, as I remember a majority of people are from that quadrant of the US. No fans that I know of. But that front porch is going to have two, and every room inside will have at least one, and the hallways will be lined with them, and the attic will be full of them, and one of those two front doors opens into what's going to be the Seville Fans LLC showroom, which will be chock full o' fans. And, since it's an acre of land, I'm going to build a shop out back...which will have 12' ceilings and more fans than I'll know what to do with.

Sweet! Can't wait for completion. Remember to post pics! Well, it's not completed yet. I still have to move in, paint, carpet, garden, put up a fence topped with razor wire, etc. But I went down to Henderson yesterday and bought it and sealed the deal >i'll be moving down there on the 9th or 10th, most likely. I doubt I'll have Internet access for a few days, so y'all'll just have to muddle on through without me . I took some pics while I was there; I took them to Wal-Mart and used that print-photos-from-your-digital-camera major-rip-off machine; here are some scans: OUTSIDE FRONT, FROM SHORT STREET: HARDWOOD FLOORS IN ALL FOUR BEDROOMS: OUTSIDE FRONT AND FRONT YARD, FROM HARRIETT STREET INSIDE ONE OF THE BEDROOMS: SIDE YARD: FRONT (NOTE NEW PORCH): SIDE OF HOUSE: PART OF THE KITCHEN: FRONT YARD: SIDE YARD, FROM INSIDE THE BACK DOOR: BACK YARD (NOTE QUIET NEIGHBORHOOD): NEW CENTRAL A/C UNIT: LAYOUT: I didn't think $34,000 would buy you that anywhere...but apparently it does in Henderson, NC. Okay, so, the house has three fans in it already--all crap. The living room has an antique brass Hampton Bay Chatham, the office has some 52" Wal-Mart piece o' crud, and the shop has an SMC Emperor. If anyone wants any of those, let me know--they're free plus shipping. Otherwise, I'll take what parts I want, and shoot the rest in my back yard. The house was recently totally rewired (when the A/C unit was put in last year), and they put a 220v outlet in the shop--which is why I'm making it my shop. How conveeeeeenient. That's the update. So when I move in, I'm going to put fans in all the rooms (obviously), and I'm dreaming up what fans I want where. It'll be nice to be able to put up as many fans as I want, without having a landlord tell me to take them down. Oh, and I'm also getting a few of these signs to attach to the fence I'm going to put up:

Wow Pierce nice cottage you got there pretty southern looking with those ''giotine'' windows and pelling vinyl revetement exterior and also the porch. Of course it would need a good repaint inside but I also like old homes . To me a old home is at least older than the 1950s. I live in a split level from 1963 with still the originals wood ''giotine'' windows. Wow! The central AC unit is huge And you did only paied 34,000$ ? Why did your landlord in your apartement tells you to take down yours fans? And why there are two doors on the front porch? Did its use to be a duplex? You should not trow the SMC Emperor

Some Emersons and Fasco Charlestons would look perfect in that house.

Wow Pierce nice cottage you got there pretty southern looking with those ''giotine'' windows Something tells me that if you actually spoke French natively, you would have said "guillotine", as opposed to "giotine"...you have to be a native English speaker to hear GEE-oh-teen and think "giotine" instead of "guillotine". "Giotine" sounds nothing like guillotine in French. Yes, those are standard single-hung windows.

Eh...I have to decide for a lot of fans: My working list so far includes FASCO Charlestons and some Emersons, as well as some Casablancas and Hunters, and that chrome/plexiglass bananafan I bought on eBay a while back. I took well over 100 paint chips from the Lowes they just built in Henderson; I'm trying to coordinate fans with room colors.

Yes Pierce I am natively french speaking but it dosent mean I never makes mistakes in french. I started to learn english when I was about 10 I am now 15 almost 16. In that house I would see well a Hunter Original since its southern looking. You are going to place a fan between two doors?

No fans on the porch? What about the bath and entry room?
I would see if there are any free/surplus paint suppliers in your area. Also check with Habitat for Humanity.
Just based on the pictures of the inside of the house, I would expect to see some "kichenfans" in there, and other simple, lower-budget 70s looking fans.

No offense, but most of the smaller, older houses around here from around this time period have very few fans, and those that are installed seem to be newer cheap fans from the Dollar General or Walmart.
The A/C unit is probably large, because it is an all in one unit (it has no air handler evaporator unit in the house).
