Interesting, my great grandfather used to have the same exact car, only it was tan instead of black. My dad drove it for a couple of years after he died, but the engine died a few years after that so he went to using my mom's old gold 1986 Chrysler Labaron.

Actually I liked the Buick Lesabre that came out in 1992. They made it for quite a while, but later with just regular door handles.
I had a 1988 Lincoln Towncar once. V8 dark blue with dark cloth. It had dark tinted windows too.

Anyone ever notice that mostly older people or gangsters drive those cars as well or is it just me? i love big cars reguardless of what type of people drive them.

Gangsters generally paint them with a flashy bright, metallic color with gold trim, huge wire rims, air suspension, and really expensive do-dads. My mom had a 89' Taurus, does that count?

When I was down in Myrtle Beach, SC this past summer, around 45% of the cars I saw were pimped out in one way or another. Even the crappiest of cars were pimped out.

To the original topic of the thread: these are my favorite sort of cars. My station wagon rides like one of these, but looks raggely inside and out. If they werent so bad on gas I would buy one!

Actually i think some older cars are better on gas than newer ones made today.

The Honda Civics are better on gas than today's model (Not counting Hybrid, but close). The reason is the safety features that make the car more safe. The extra airbags, and also by customer demand of unnecessary add-ons.

makes sense, therefor they take up more power, hence using more gas?

Yep. Another thing you can do to save gas is to take unused and unnecessary things floating around in your car. Also, I don't know if it works but you could keep your spare tire at your house and carry around a can of Fix-a-flat. www.fixaflat.com/It can pump up a deflated tire so you can drive home or somewhere to get the tire patched. Also, use the A/C only when you are driving above 50 mph, anything lower, turn it off & open your windows.
